there a function, circa a String a !- Variable umzuwandeln?

Strings in Integerwerte can Yes via integer%=string$ transfiguring.

with Dezimalzahlen works the however only if the String a Ganzzahl is means zB 1.

If one a String with the Content "1.5" umwandelt, is the Result in the !-Variable "0.000000"...

have I something overlooking?
