under Windows XP was is yet simply one Icon to a File extension zuzuordnen.
with Vista and 7 has the changed and is a little komplizierter

example *.prf and Win7
here must one first once ALLE .prf Entries from the registration delete. The prf-entry standing not only under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
separate z.B. too under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Classes
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/Microsoft/windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/FileExts
means - best The whole registration search and ALLE Deleting Entries.

then under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
a new Key .prf create, and the Standardwert z.B. ProfanQuelltext present.

then naturally whom Key ProfanQuelltext under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT create.

then under ProfanQuelltext whom Key DefaultIcon create.
whom Standardwert with the Dateiposition the Icons Change. example
C:XProfan11\Icoprf.ico

then under ProfanQuelltext whom Key Shell create.
under the Key Shell whom Key Open create
under the Key Open whom Key command create.
whom Standardwert on the editor Change with "%1". example:
C:XProfan11\XProfEd.exe "%1"
